ATTRIBUTES
Academics
I am currently taking five AP classes, and scored a 1990 on my SAT. I will be recognized as the Rensselaer Medalist from my high school this year, for distinguishing myself in mathematics and science. I am a member of the National Honor Society and the German National Honor Society, and have been for the past two years. Last year I participated in the NASA WISH program, where I was in the top forty participants, and had the opportunity to plan a mission to Mars with other women interested in engineering from around the country at Johnson Space Center, Houston, TX. I am currently participating in the NASA INSPIRE Online Learning Community, completing activities, quizzes and projects based on the information learned through the online lessons.
Athletics
Although I may not be an athlete in the traditional sense of the word, I am very involved in athletics at my high school. I am currently a member of the Girls Varsity Bowling Team, which finished seventh in the state this year. I am also the Head Manager of the Varsity Football Team, a manager for the Varsity Boys Basketball team and a manager for the Varsity Boys Lacrosse Team. As a manager, I complete whatever tasks the team need accomplished for a successful season; most of the time I act as a statistician, recording and reporting statistics for the team. For the football team, I also create and maintain the team website (https://sites.google.com/site/nbraidersfootball/).
Community Service
For the past three years I have volunteered at Feed the Children on a monthly basis, packaging food and hygiene boxes to send to those suffering losses from natural disasters. I have also consistently volunteered for both the Elementary and Middle School Parent Teacher Organizations in my town for the past seven years. I have volunteered at numerous events for both organizations, including dances, the school store, clothing sales and school open houses.
