Work
I work about six days a week. I'm a waitress/breakfast worker at an independent living facility. I'm not just working here to support myself, but also because I respect the older generation. Through working here, I am part of a family which helps elderly people enjoy the last years of their life. Not only do I work all the time but I even work on holidays. I've worked at my job for an entire year and I just got my 1 year raise. In our evaluations 1 pt is a perfect score and I received 1.5's and 2.0's. I am dedicated to this job and give it my all. I am prepared to continue working here through the entire summer up until I move to Bellingham to attend Western Washington University.
Community Service
I have done many different types of community service activities. For one, I volunteered at my local hospital for over 2 years. I worked 4 hours per week through the school year and summer. I received over 300 hours of community service there. I also won the Public Relations award in my second year of volunteering at St. John Hospital. Next, I helped at my community college at a debate tournament. I was involved in timing debates, and sorting all the ballots for the day. I put in 12 hours for that. A couple other activities I've done include fundraising for my church and my church's youth group, helping out for a non-profit organisation named "coats for kids" and helping out at a kindergarten registration night.
Academics
I do full time college while still in high school through the Running-start program. When I was in high school I had a 3.8- 4.0 GPA. When I started my college education in 2010 I continued this, unfortunately I do not have a 4.0 anymore but I continue to get A's and B's. When I went to high school full-time I was also awarded student of the month in mathematics. I'm also 32/207 people in the graduating class of 2012 from Mark Morris. I have never been off the honor role for either my high school nor community college. I'm either on the President's or Dean's list at Lower Columbia College every quarter. In winter 2011 I took my SAT's and I received a 1665 all together.
