Arts
My whole high school career, my passion has mostly been in the arts area. Whether it be photography, drawing, painting, or even interior design. Last year, my Junior year, I took a Visual Communications class at our GASC Technology Center. I learned a wide range of different things in that class. Such as different drawing techniques, graphic design and photography skills, and did a little bit of film photography. This year I have been in a photography class. It has helped me a lot with understanding how camera work and the functions. Not just your basic point and click pictures. I also learned to look at things through a different perspective and with a new eye. I have really enjoyed this class and my teacher has said that I have grown greatly with my photography skills.
Athletics
Last year I decided I want to try playing tennis and see how I did with it. Well, I ended up finding out that I am actually pretty good at it and I really love getting out and hitting the ball over the net with my racket. And the team really gets along well which is a big importance for me. The biggest thing for me though, has been the drumline. It started my freshman year of high school. My brother was on the line and he ended up being a big influence as to why I ended up doing it. It was a really great feeling being on the drumline. You keep the beat for the rest of the band. And while you not only playing different drums, you also have to march, stay in time, and learn the music you are playing as well. It has been hard work, but definitely worth it in the end. A great experience.
Academics
Throughout my 4 years of high school, I may not have been the smartest kid in the school. And I also may not have had all A's or all A's and B's. But I know for a fact that I have tried hard to do well with my academics. I am always trying to participate in my class and always pay attention. In my math classes, usually if I know the answer I will try to raise my hand and give it to the teacher. In addition, I am normally a pretty quiet person in school and usually keep to myself a lot. So I don't really ever cause disturbances in my classrooms. Yes, I would say that I am a slower worker when it comes to my homework or classwork, but I do try my best to get done and turned in. But sometimes it is hard for me to understand it.
