ATTRIBUTES
Community Service
During the 2011-2012 school, year I have logged more than 1,000 hours of community service. I mainly volunteer at the Humane Society of Utah and often bring my work home with me. I foster kittens all year round and nurse them back to health.
I am a peer mentor for the 2012-2013 school year. I have the duty of welcoming incoming freshman and transferring students during the course of the year.
I am a member of my church youth group and we hold many fundraisers in order to collect clothing, school supplies, and many more items in order to help those around us. I am also an officer of the Human Rights International Club at my high school. We are advocates for those who don't have a voice for themselves. Service is a huge part of my life and I am so proud of what I have and will accomplish
Academics
As a member of the National Honor Society, I am required to have above a 3.75 GPA. I manage to maintain at least a 3.88. I work extremely hard in school and find it fun and exciting. I am a hard, dedicated worker and I also persevere.
I push myself to achieve my best and my only competition is myself. I come from a family that cares very little for academic excellence but, I continue to succeed in my endeavors.
I am enrolled in one A.P. course, and five honors courses. I excel in math and physical sciences and intend on following them into my college years.
I strive to beat myself and I always improve a little. I apply myself entirely to school and I want to be accepted into a good college and get a great education.
Athletics
When I moved to Utah in seventh grade I decided to go out for the cheer-leading squad even though I had never cheered before. Needless to say, I did not make the team. The next year I tried hard to advance my cheer-leading skills so I could make high school cheer. I did. I was so proud of myself because I knew how hard I worked for it. My sophomore year of high school I joined a competitive cheer team, I made coed level five, the highest level. I was cheering with people who have cheered for ten years while it was only my second. I suffered a major neck injury during that year and it caused my to quit, so I tried something else. I tried out for the dance team, even though I had never danced before, and...MADE IT! It is now my second year on the dance team, and I was voted head captain.
