Academics
I've been in advanced programs ever since elementary school and stayed on the advanced course through middle and high school, taking every available AP and Honors curse. I've passed every AP exam I've taken: Human Geography with a 3, Biology with a 4, and World History, a 5. For this success I've been awarded with the title AP Scholar. Due to my success on AP Exams, PSAT, and my unweighted 4.00 GPA I've been selected to become a member of the National Society of High School Scholars. Now my weighted GPA is a 4.417 and I'm currently working to increase that GPA and pass my current AP Physics, Literature, and History exams. I am ranked #2 in my class but I aim to be valedictorian before next year. I've worked hard for my success and will take every possible opportunity to learn more.
Arts
Acting always intrigued me, so to fulfill my curiosity I joined my school's Drama Club. When I first started, veteran actors told me that I had amazing talent in the craft. My troupe went to the Sub-Regional One Act Competition in the three years I was a part of Drama Club and we won each time. This past year I won an award for All-Star Cast Member. As a sophomore I acted in a summer production directed by a renowned Theater professor from Kennesaw State University. In the span of just 4 weeks, our ensemble threw on a huge summer performance that received highly positive feedback. I truly believe Drama Club allowed me to open up more and be myself; it also allowed me explore more of the arts. Now, my friends and I are extending our stage acting into a film we hope to enter into a festival.
Green
Last year, the Alliance for Climate Education talked to my school of rising danger due to global warming. This inspired me and others to create a club that would lower our negative impact on the environment and increase our positive impact. Here's a result of our accomplishment in our first year:
we lost over 1780 pounds of CO2, 1320 kWh, and saved our school $130 in electricity bill payment. This was done with no adult sponsoring. Some objectives we have for next year are powering a dance by bicycle and hosting a fashion show from recycled clothing material. For our achievements in just the first year of our establishment we are ranked number #1 in our state and #8 in the nation among all ACE based Environmental programs. As acting president, I plan to build upon our success.
