Academics
Ever since elementary school, learning new things excites me. Breathing in new knowledge is an amazing feeling for me. I have always been a sedulous student, and I plan to stay that way. I want to live to the day where I can come back to my parents with a full career in my hands. My grades have never been a disappointment to my parents, I have always looked forward to checking the mailbox at end end of the semester because I wanted to show off my grades to my parents. They have provided me with everything they can in order for my to be successful, and my reward will always be my grades, until I have a career of course. School will always be my priority and it will forever will be. With hard work comes success, therefore I am willing to do all the hard work it takes to get me to the top.
Government
I have been involved in Student Government for four years throughout High School. In Freshmen year I stepped up to become class representative, and that was where my love towards bettering my school grew. I participated in leadership activities with my school, one of them being an overnight stay at a leadership camp. I learned a lot of valuable skills, one of them being public speaking. In tenth grade I took the role again. This time I was able to alternate the school uniform, allowing students to be able to wear different colored undershirts. In eleventh grade year I was fortunate enough to be the student body Vice President. I was in charge or scheduling meetings and meeting with the Parent Council. Now in my Senior Year I am a class representative again, continuing to better my school.
Community Service
Giving back to others has also been a huge passion of mine. In freshmen year I was a teen volunteer at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Beverly Hills, CA. I worked in the Critical Tower so there were always plenty of things to do. Now that I am in senior year, I am taking my community service to a new level. Because my high school is project based, it encourages us to pursue our interests. I am interested in optometry so I organized an eye glasses drive in my school. I am collecting used glasses for an organization called Angels for Sight in Compton, CA. They are non-profit and provide free eye exams and frames to those who need it. I intern in an Optical Clinic in Beverly Hills, CA so my drive is definitely being spread throughout different communities.
