Academics
Ever since I was in elementary school, I have been on the Honor Roll. As the years pasted, this became much more difficult. In high school, I have taken all of the harder classes, including: AP (advanced placement) classes, college classes, and honors classes. I have been a step ahead of others in math courses since eighth grade. After testing, one can be admitted to taking Algebra I as an eighth grader rather than a freshman. As a junior, I was taking senior science. I, also, took an AP class while I was a junior that was considered to be "at college level." During my twelfth grade year, I took two college courses as well as AP English IV.
Community Service
I am in a club that we call Beta Club. This club is based on grades as well as community service. Every year, we are required to have a certain amount of hours of community service to attend the big convention. To put some hours behind us, we held a benefit for MDA, the Muscular Dystrophy Association. It was a talent showcase; we had a couple of local "celebrities" come in for a performance as well as students who wanted to broadcast their talent. On top of the Beta Club's community service, I am involved in the yearbook. I volunteer many house a year to completing the annual. I've also been involved in the boy's basketball team. I have gone to every game to keep statistics. I have also partaken in helping the local church program. There, I watched and taught the children for a few hours.
Work
From someone who has competed in sports, I know what work and dedication is. I have st rived not only in academics but in sports as well. Every practice, I had to work and push myself to get better. Also, working on a team has given me better skills. Well, this set me up for working in the real work. I have maintained a job since my junior year. At my job, I have been promoted from hosting to waiting on tables. As a waitress, I have learned how to handle stressful situations. Although I'm only 17, I am trusted at my work. On multiple nights of the week, I am responsible for closing. This can be a handful, but I have been capable of doing all of the tasks that come with the responsibility.
