Work
I have been a part-time model at Hollister Co. since Aug, 2011. Im 17 making me one of the youngest people working there, and I feel that I set the example for all kids my age as far as responsibilty. I go to work on time, in dress code, and do my job to the best of my ability everyday. I plan to keep working there the summer before I go off to college and maybe even continue a career there in the future. It is my first job where I pay taxes, and I feel like I am contributing to society in a major way. Work also teaches me how to be a team member by working in a group setting to achieve a common goal.
Faith
I became a active Missionary Baptist member of age 8. I attend church regularly and faithfully every sunday. I am a member of the Usher Committee, and I work in our church kitchen as a food server for the community. I invite my friends to come to Sunday School with me as well as other missionaries we offer at church. Church plays a big part of my leadership skills. My church family shows me how to interact with others in a formal matter. Church also helps build my self-esteem, and is a place to go when I have questions about anything.
Other Achievements
I am a senior at Memphis Central High School in Memphis, Tennessee. I maintain a GPA of 2.4 and an active member in the ARMY JROTC program at school. My rank in ROTC is Cadet S-3 Sergeant Major on our staff. I am the Senior ColorGuard Commander for my school, and we present the colors for our community and major political figures in the city. ROTC challenges my leadership abilities everyday in and out of school. I plan to participate in the ROTC program in college and maybe join the service after school.
