Academics
I am a devoted student when it comes to academics. I have worked extremely hard in order to achieve the 4.0 GPA that I have now. In order to enrich my high school experience, I have taken challenging courses that were either Honors or Advanced Placement. My favorite AP course has been United States History because I love to learn about this country that I live in, and I find it fascinating how pivotal parts of history have happen all around us.
Another important part in my high school academics is membership in honor societies. I am a current member of three honor societies: National Honor Society, Science Honor Society, and Spanish Honor Society. I am an executive official of the Science Honor Society.
Athletics
Although my academics are a vital part of my school career, they are not everything. I try to balance my day with athletics also. I have a member of West Springfield Varsity field hockey for the past 2 years and Junior Varsity during my freshman year. There are many responsibilities that I've gained throughout my years as a player on the team, considering that I am captain for the 2010 season. I have learned to be a leader, organizer, and team player during my time on the team.
I have also played other sports like golf, indoor field hockey, summer field hockey, indoor track, and outdoor track. All these activities keep me busy, however they help me relax from my occasionally stressful academic life.
Community Service
Another aspect of my life that is important to me is community service. I have been involved organizing and volunteering in many activities at places such as preschools, blood drives, elementary schools, food assistance centers, youth sports clubs, and school grounds.
Of all these places, the most rewarding has definitely been Sydenstricker Preschool. I have volunteered as a teacher's assistant which has helped me gain experience with children, something that would be useful in my chosen career path of a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner.
Another volunteering experience that I had pleasure in partaking in was coaching youth soccer to girls. It was a beneficial experience because I was able to spread my love of soccer to young girls.
