Academics
During all four years of high school I have taken accelerated and Advanced Placement courses. I have always held myself to a high academic standard and will continue to do so in my upcoming college years. Being academically successful is one of the most important things in my life and always will be. My mother always said, "Earning your own education is something that nobody will ever be able to take away from you. Things come and go but education will always be there." I try to live by this statement each and every day. But, no matter how much your family want you to be successful and earn an education, you must also want it for yourself. Having independence and not relying on others to do everything for you is a big step to make in a persons life.
Faith
Living by my faith is something that means more to me then anything. If you don't have faith, then you simply have nothing. I am an active member in my church youth group, and living in a poverty stricken community, the citizens rely a lot on the church. We deliver meals to less fortunate on Thanksgiving and sometimes go around the community spreading the gospel to people that may never get the chance to hear it. My goal for this year is to go on a mission trip to a foreign country so I can have the humbling opportunity of seeing those that are much less fortunate then I am. Some people may never know about certain faiths and I know that I was placed on this earth to tell all that want to know.
Government
During the first three years of High School i was an active member in almost every club that my school offered. I was President of the Student Council (Student Government) for three years, Key Club Vice President for two years, and am currently the President of F.B.L.A (Future Business Leaders of America). As a leader, it is very important to put the benefit of the group before your own. As the President of Student Government, my job was to be the voice of the student body and to share all their concerns and voice them well. Any type of leadership position should be an honor to whoever possesses it. Honesty and Loyalty are the two most important characteristics that a leader should posses. If you cannot be honest, then you will never be successful no matter what your colleagues may say.
