Community Service
My love for community service started when i was 10 years old, at the Macon Rescue Mission. The Macon Rescue Mission is a homless shelter, that assits people in need on certain holidays as well as year round. I go serve plates and volunteer there every Thanksgiving, and also direct the ministry portion and say the blessing before the meal portion is provided. My ninth grade year, in high school, i joined an organization called Kappa Alpha Zeta (KAZ). KAZ is a community service orginazation known state-wide for the service projects we do, as well as the other events. Our projects include, just to name a few, Christmas for Kids, Jerry Lewis Telethon, and high involvement in Relay for Life. In my college years, I will continue to serve the community in whatever way possible.
Athletics
I grew up playing almost every sport you can name, and as i got older i started to pick which ones were my favorites. In middle school, i had it down to football, baseball, and tennis. I played those three throughout middle school, but when it came to high school, football was a year round sport almost, and tennis and baseball were the same season. I was faced with a tough choice, but i chose tennis, and i'm glad i did. I have competed on the county, sectional, state, regional, and national level for tennis. Tennis is the sport i truly love, and i would not be where i am today without it. Athletics has impacted every aspect of my life, and has helped me to give me a stronger high school experience. I will be playing varsity tennis for my college begenning in the fall.
Technology
Technology is a growing aspect of todays society, and i believe it will be a major part of the future. I have always been interested in technology, but my true love started the summer before my junior year when i applied and recieved a job in the technology department of Bibb County Schools. The position i applied for was to be a summer intern under the webmaster and his employees. The deeper i got into this job, the more i started to love it. It is a 40 hour a week kind of job, so it is only during the summer. But i have had this job for two summers, and i have worked my way up to being in charge of three schools software and hardware throughout the summer. This has taught me that technology is a crucial part of everything we do, and it is essential that we understand it to be successful
