Academics

I am in the top two percent of my class at Dayton High School in Dayton, Texas; that would be 4th out of 299 students. My GPA is 5.21 on a 5.0 scale. I take mostly Advanced Placement courses. I particularly excel in math and science. Last year, I won the subject award for AP U.S. History.

I made a total score of 1800 on my SAT test, consisting of 710 in math, 660 in reading, and 530 in writing.

Community Service

I have been involved in Boy Scouting since first grade. For my Eagle Scout Leadership Service Project, I planned, raised funds, coordinated, and constructed a concrete patio area with a 35' flag pole, 2 marble benches, statue and landscaping for the Dayton Volunteer Fire/Liberty County EMS Substation. I personally spent over 150 hours, with 289+ hours and $6,300 donated.

I have also spent over 100 hours helping other Scouts complete their Eagle projects. We have built an outdoor learning center, playground equipment and a ticket booth for the baseball field.

Additionally, each year I participate in collecting can goods for our local food pantry during the months of November and December through my 4-H club. We also send holiday cards to the active military troops.

Other Achievements

I am in Future Farmers of America (FFA), where I serve as President of my local chapter. I am involved in beef cattle production, forage production and pecan production. I placed first at State for my Pecan Production Proficiency Award, second at State for my Forage Production Proficiency Award, and fifth at State for my Beef Production Proficiency Award. I have been a state finalist (1 of 10) for the Star Greenhand Award, Star Chapter Farmer Award, and Star LoneStar Award. I compete on the Sr. Chapter Conducting team, which is a contest concerning parliamentary procedure. My team and I advanced to state last year, where we placed 10th. I also participate on the Forestry team. This team has advanced past state to the regional 4-state competition the past three years.
