Academics
I love school, basically, and I take the most challenging courses available to me. I've taken all honors and AP where my school allows, and I am #1 or #2 in my class. My APs are substantial: AP Art: 2-D [4 on the exam] (sophomore year), AP US History [5], AP English Language [5], and AP Latin: Vergil [5] (junior year), and AP Calculus AB, AP Computer Science, AP Physics B, and AP US Government, as well as AP Music Theory independent study (senior year). I really have a love a learning, especially in the math/science and music areas. Attending a college-preparatory all-girls Catholic school has added to the intensity of my high school education, but I manage straight A's in all of my classes, on top of a very busy schedule.
Arts
Oddly enough, the arts and math/science are kind of "my thing." Music is my main art; I've played the flute since the 4th grade, with private lessons for a lot of the time, and I've competed with my flute in Districts and All-States. I do community service with my flute by volunteer coaching for Flute Symphony over the summer. I also sing, in my school choirs, and I cantor at my church with a guitarist. I am teaching myself piano as well as taking AP Music Theory as an independent study course because I'm fascinated by the logic in music so much. I have gotten the lead in my school's musical the last two years I've done the musical, and I've loved every minute of it. I also do visual art, particularly when it incorporates technolo
Technology
Math/science/technology is my other passion. Math class has always been my favorite and the easiest, from geometry to calculus. I'm a high scorer and captain on our math team and a captain of our brand-new (all-girls) robotics team. I intend to major in computer science in college; I want to be a part of the growing technological field, the amazing inventions every day made possible with computers. Robotics is such a learning experience; I am in charge of programming the robot, and I learn more than one thing new every day. It's fascinating to see how much can be accomplished with computers, and all the different ways those tasks can be accomplished. I'm a high scorer on our school's computer team and excel in our AP Computer Science class
