Academics
Currently I am attending a Magnet high school in which there exist three house: Humanities, Global Ecology, and Computer Science. I am part of the Humanities House and as such I have a rigorous class load that includes, and has included, such subjects as AP US Government, AP World History, AP Art History, and AP English Language. As each of these classes is specific to the Humanities House, they include work that is designed for Magnet students and is more difficult than the work which these classes would include in a non Magnet school. I have excelled in this rigorous school environment and have achieved all As in my Humanities Advanced Placement class so far this year.
Arts
I have a deep love for all forms of art be it drama, music, or visual arts. I have been involved in Drama since I was in Elementary school playing roles in eight productions. My last role was as Hamlet for the Folger Shakespeare Festival. I received an Outstanding Acting Award for my performance.This year I am the assistant director for my school's acting troupe and playing the role of Cassio in the play Othello. Next year I will be the director. I have a great love for music and have been trained in classical guitar for the past three years. I enjoy drawing and painting whenever I get the chance. My deepest love is for writing. I am currently working on a novel and aspire to win a Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in the future.
Athletics
Physical activity drives me. I need exercise regularly and do not care the form in which it takes. The sport which I am most heavily involved with is Dressage which is a form of horse back riding. As an equestrian I compete in a lot of shows with my horse. He and I have won High Score Awards three years in a row at the Regional Junior Rider Team Championships. Other than riding, I love boxing and have taken martial arts classes in years previous. I also greatly enjoy sports such as skiing, snowboarding, water skiing, wake boarding, and surfing. I try to do them as often as I can. While I only actively participate in a few sports, there are many others which I enjoy: basketball, football, softball, and volleyball.
