Academics
I am currently ranked number 22 out of 340 students. I have an unweighted GPA of 3.8. When I graduate high school I will have completed three dual credit classes through my local community college. I scored a 29 on the ACT and a 98 on the ASVAB. As a sophomore, I was a District Regional Qualifier in the Association of Christian Schools International Creative Writing Festival for short story writing. The same year I was also accepted into National Honor Society. Thoughout my high school years I have always maintained an AB average. I realize the extreme value of a quality education and push myself to achieve above-average grades.
Work
During my first three years of high school I spent a lot of my free time babysitting for various friends of the family. My senior year, I began working a part-time job in the restaurant industry for the first time. Having a job has taught me a lot about time management. I have learned to balance work, time with friends, and school. The entire time I have maintained my AB average. Working has taught me how important it is to finish getting a quality education so that I can adequately provide for myself when I get older. It has also taught me how to be a productive part of a work environment and communicate with those around me.
Faith
I accepted Jesus as my Savior at a very young age. Ever since then I have been actively involved in church. I began working in preschool ministry at the age of 13 and continued there for 5 years. Sophomore year I joined the church praise team. I sing and play keyboard on Wednesday nights in youth group and weekends in the adult service. Recently, I was blessed to be a part of a live recording for a church worship album. I attend youth group weekly, and go every summer to church camp. My relationship with Jesus is extremely important to me. Without His love and grace I could not be where I am today. He has gotten me through many problems I could not have faced alone.
