Academics
With a GPA of 4.3965/5.0, I am one of the top 10 students in a class of 622 at James Bowie High School, one of the most competitive public schools in central Texas. I have maintained stellar grades throughout my entire academic career, and I have a real thirst for knowledge that leads me to cherish the educational experience. I consider myself a real polymath, as I am interested in a variety of subjects, and I excel in nearly every area of academia. I have been accepted into Rice University, one of the most prestigious schools in the nation, an accomplishment that I think really highlights my academic esteem.
Community Service
I pride myself on my desire to contribute to my community. Senior year, I was nominate Student Council President of Bowie High School, and I have used my title as an opportunity to give back to the faculty and the people who have contributed to my high school success. Every Thursday, My Student Council Vice Presidents and I spend three or four hours beautifying our school campus. We are solely responsible for the gardening, maintenance, and upkeep that takes place around our high school. We have also contributed to various local charities including Coats For Kids, Goodwill, and the Salvation Army.
Athletics
I have been playing soccer since I was three years old. This year I have been named the Varsity Team Captain of the James Bowie High School soccer team, and as a Junior I was named 2nd team all district for the varsity team. I am also President and Cofounder of the James Bowie High School Ultimate Frisbee Club. I spend hours a week working on keeping myself fit for my competitive club soccer team. For the last five years I have had 2 hours of soccer practice three times a week, with a 2 hour long game nearly every weekend.
