Academics
My entire educational career, especially high school, has been me working towards college and a career that I will enjoy spending the rest of my life doing. All the effort I have put into my schooling has given me an incredible work ethic. I have great time management and in class learning skills, as well as outside of class study skills. I have taken French all four years of high school. I am currently holding a steady A in French 4 AP. I have taken math all four years as well. In all of my classes I never do anything halfway. I put all my effort and sometimes it doesn't turn out as well as I hoped, but my effort definitely shows. The one thing all my teachers say about me is I have great determination in the classroom.
Arts
To me, art is a really easy way for self expression. I have taken several art classes in school and loved all of them. While I love to draw, paint, and take photos, my favorite form of art is writing. In school, analytical essays are my favorite because I love reading about something so basic and trivial and learning a life lesson from it. It is one of the greatest art forms out there. When someone can write about an event that has nothing to do with the majority of the readers, yet still make it so applicable to so many people, it is a masterpiece. I feel like most of my knowledge has come from reading and using those skills in my own writing.
Other Achievements
When I was in 7th grade I was hospitalized for Diabetes. At the time, I did not know I had the disease. I missed a lot of school at first because I was trying to get it under control. Five years later, it is still a struggle at school trying to maintain it. I always have to make sure I eat something before school, between my first and second classes, and at lunch. Sometimes, I wake up with a low blood sugar during the middle of the night and if it is on a week night then the next day is always more difficult. I can be up for more than a half an hour in the middle of the night. It is a constant struggle to maintain it but I consider the fact that I have kept my diabetes in control with the stress of school a major life achievement.
