Community Service
My volunteering experience began as early as my seventh grade year, but I truly didn't appreciate the service until my sophmore year of high school. I began at a local christian daycare center, and after 120 hours of service, I understood that volunteering had become my hobby. From that summer on, I branched out into other community projects ranging from: community clean-ups, the humane society, special olympics, and fund raising events for various charities. However, I didn't get to see a drastic effect from my efforts. So, I engaged within more organized volunteering with the Harmony Health Clinic and Clinton Presidential Library, broadening my experience to a more professional level. Volunteering, over time, has become a personal hobby.
Government
Not many 8 year olds can look at an adult with a mature understanding of the government and political system surrounding her, but then again, I'm not an average person. At 8 years old, I went on the KARN public radio program with Dave Elswick, and I blossomed from there. At 12, I aided in the George W Bush campaign. Then my sophmore year in high school, I served as a page for (then) state legislature Shane Broadway. Junior year, the summer of 2009, I attended Arkansas Girl's State, and was elected to chairman of the Nationalist pary, and Senator for my county. My most recent political activity included the Clinton Presidential Library where I aided as a tour guide, informist of the oval office and archives. Politics: my career and passion.
Academics
Walking into the doors of high school, I had everything lined out. I was intent on attending the University of Arkansas, majoring in political science/pre-law, and becoming a federal criminal prosecutor. Every academic achievement I acquired during high school was in effort to accomplish these goals. Therefore, I kept up my grades, enrolled in all advanced classes, remained at an honors status above the top 10% of my class of 470, and persued an extracirricular experience to broaden my education at Bryant High School. Through these efforts, I obtained true relationships with the faculty at my school, which made the want to learn come much easier for me. My education has opened many doors for my future by installing a solid work ethic.
