ATTRIBUTES
Arts
I have studied the performing arts for seven years. I started in a small, local studio and eventually worked my way up into a competitive dance team. I enjoy all types of dance, but I favor contemporary and jazz. I like to be able to express myself and my emotions through technique. I have won a gold at a dance competition before and received multiple medals of excellence. I was also selected as a dancer in the Mississippi Lions All-State Band for three years in a row. I was one of the top two dancers in the state of Mississippi. I was also the head color guard captain my senior year and lead our group of 40 girls to first place in a regional competition.
Faith
The most important thing in my life is my relationship with God. I have attended a Southern Baptist Church my whole life and was raised to do everything for the glory of God. Not until I reached high school, did my faith take its course in my life. I have a very strong relationship with my Savior, and have done various community service acts to tell others about God's word. I went on a mission trip to Delaware and Maryland to spread the gospel and witness to many strangers. I also participate in the TOMS shoes project and have recently purchased two pair of shoes to help another child in need of shoes. I am also a part of Fellowship of Christian Athletes at my high school, hoping to spread the joy and light of Jesus Christ.
Academics
The importance of academics: it determines my course in life and my future career. I strive to do my best in school. My parents don't push me to make the best grades, so therefore, I push myself. I have maintained an A average throughout school and was selected as a member of the National Honor Society in high school. I was also selected into the Grenada High School Hall of Fame my senior year. I believe that having a wide spread of knowledge will get me far in life and lead me to success. I hope to keep up my hard work and push myself in college, just as I have done for 12 years.
