ATTRIBUTES
Academics
I have always strived to get all A's. Currently, I have a GPA of 4.38 and I'm a member of the National Honor Society. Last year, I was nominated to represent my school at Virginia Girls State, which enabled me to learn about state and local governments. I am learning to take on more leadership roles now. I am the marching band president this year, so I manage the website and pitch in wherever I'm needed. I am very patient and driven; I am determined to get any job done. Throughout high school, I have taken math, english, and history honors classes. Currently, I am taking dual enrollment classes through Piedmont Virginia Community College in the subjects of english and biology.
Athletics
I started ballet classes in ninth grade. I was really discouraged at first because I was so inexperienced, but I kept practicing and I have improved. In eleventh grade, I started taking pointe classes. I love pointe! The sport can cause a few toe injuries, but it is so beautiful and completely worth it. Recently, I started taking tumbling classes, or gymnastics. I am learning how to do roundoffs, handstands, and much more. Tumbling involves much concentration and strength, and I am really enjoying it while watching myself progress. I joined the school tennis team last year and I will join this year, too. Tennis is really fun, and I am gradually improving.
Arts
I have always loved the arts! I have won two art contests in my school. In my spare time, I enjoy sketching and painting. Music is a huge part of my life. I have been in the school concert band, pep band, jazz band, and marching band. In my first year of marching band (junior year), I won the trophy for "Best High School Marcher!" At first, I was hesitant to join marching band, but I love it now. Recently, I auditioned for All District Band. I was selected to the All District Symphonic Band and placed 14th in the District on clarinet. I was really shocked! I'm currently learning how to play the tenor saxophone. I also take piano and guitar lessons. I am the substitute pianist for my church and I play gospel music on the guitar.
