Academics
Throughout my high school career, I have challenged myself to take courses I love and courses that I know I will be taking in college. Currently, I have a 4.3 GPA, and as of now, in my junior year, I am taking 5 AP classes: Chemistry, Calculus, French, US History, and English. I am also taking physics, which is an honors class. My ninth grade year, I was the only freshman to take AP European History as well as the AP exam. My sophomore year, I took AP World History and passed the AP exam with flying colors. I am two years ahead of my grade level in math, as I am taking AP Calculus BC my junior year. I love studying and the knowledge associated with studying and learning.
Community Service
I have been volunteering as a juror at my local Teen Court, and this past year, I was chosen to be a teen attorney, meaning I strive to get my clients the least amount of punishment as possible. I have also been volunteering at High Point Tennis Center for the past three years, helping run charity tournaments such as Children Helping Children, and other nationally sponsored events, such as the United States Tennis Association's Champions Tournament. I am also part of the National Honor Society, in which I have volunteered at Advocacy Centers for Abused Children, fundraisers, and more events for humanitarian causes. My junior year, I organized a full-fledged music program for a charity organization called Sankara Nethralaya, and raised over $15,000 for free eye operations in India.
Arts
I have been singing for fourteen years and playing the piano for eleven years. After giving my debut singing performance at the age of six, I have been singing in a plethora of events even up until now. When I was nine years old, I received the honor of singing with a legendary Indian singer, Dr. K.J. Yesudas, When I was fifteen years old, I organized a charity program and trained kids from the ages of 8 to 16 to sing in it, and I participated in it as well. I sang and played a piano piece that I had composed specifically for the program. As for piano, I have been participating in a variety of competitions and festivals for the past seven years, placing first in many of the competitions and winning the Superior Plus Status in the festivals.
