Arts
Art is my favorite subject in school and in life. I have tried to take as many art classes as I can in school. For example, pottery, draw and paint, IB Art, 3D Art, etc... Through 4-H and these classes, I am able to use several different media, materials, and techniques. Using wood, clay, paper, glass, and the computer I can create some pretty creative works of art. I have made handmade cards and earrings to sell at craft shows. I am attending Western Colorado Community College for a Graphic Design class. This is the career I want to pursue. I was an intern for Visual Arts at Herbergers where I dressed mannequins, hung signs, and more. I won first place in solo and ensemble in singing, I play the trumpet and have lettered in both subjects.
Faith
I am in youth group and attend church. I taught CEF (Child Evangelism Fellowship) and brought kids to Christ. I have gone to about three Bible Camps through out my childhood and even lived at one of them. My parents were youth group leaders when I was younger and through that and teaching my Sunday school classes, they have taught me much about God. I have been able to take what I have learned to minister to others. I have done this by singing, writing, acting and by speech. Some Sundays, I help out with children's Sunday School and nursery at my church. I have also assisted with VBS (Vacation Bible School) for several years. My youth group has gone to Dare to Share for three years. I have also gone to AWANAS to help as well.
Community Service
For Community Service, I have served food at the homeless shelter in my town. My 4-H club has seperated canned foods for Altrussa for four years. We also sang Christmas Carols and played our instruments at Christmas time for those in the nursing home for six years along with a yearly clean up of the Cemetary. I participated in an student exchange program where the 4-H club from Kansas came to my town and I assisted them as they discovered our ways of doing 4-H and took a tour of Colorado. I helped with entrees for the Palisade Peach Festival for four yeas. I have been a Mesa County Fair Ambassador. This is one of my favorite services because as fair royalty, we help with awards, questions, events, judging and more.
