ATTRIBUTES
Academics
I was accepted into the National Honor Society and have been on the honor roll since first grade. I aide my English teacher during my study hall, grading papers and other small jobs. I assist others in my class in finishing their class projects because I always finish my own ahead of time. I have only taken the ACT once, and I scored a 24. I am scheduled to take it again one month. I enjoy reading, and I chose to read Les Miserables for a class project rather than opting for an easier book. I manage to maintain my G.P.A. at approximately 3.9 and I schedule myself for the highest level classes my school offers, such as Calculus and Physics.
Arts
I am actively involved in my community theatre, and I have participated in seven productions, including "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever" and "Let Down Your Hair, Rapunzel". These productions have included musical theatre and simple choreography. I wish to work with teenagers and theatre as a career, because acting has changed my life so dramatically. Theatre teaches confidence and creates life-long friendships, and I love working with young children during the productions I am involved in. I have also participated in my school choir since junior high school. I often play a large role in organizing the concerts and the themes of the shows.
Community Service
I am involved in the Muskingum Valley Leo Club, and we work towards improving our community. Our club holds fundraisers and then we use the money to donate to local charities or to work on local projects, such as planting flowers or visiting nursing homes. We often play Wii bowling with the local nursing home residents and we also organize simple crafts on holidays to work on with the residents. I also volunteered during Safety Town, a program designed to teach children basic safety rules. We spend a week showing the children multiple presentations and hands-on activities that teach important skills, such as what to do if you find a gun in your house and how to react if a stranger asks you to go with them.
