Ever since I was four years old I’ve been singing. I got into singing when my friend told me that I should sing because I had a good voice. When I started school I joined chorus for four years. In the sixth grade I started to write my own songs. A month after that I joined band and I was a flute player. My first year in band I received a superior award. In eighth grade I joined the symphonic and jazz band. My last year in band year in band I received the superior award for the second time. After leaving band I continued to practice different instruments and I learned how to play the alto sax, violin, and piano. Music has helped me in a lot of ways. I’m more open minded, it helped me express my feelings.
Academics
In elementary I always had trouble in school. I was always behind in my work. So when I entered middle school I was determined to change. In the sixth grade I started getting high honor roll. Through sixth grade things came a lot easier for me. In seventh grade when I looked at my schedule my classes were honors. I was really happy because all the hard work I did in the sixth grade paid off. At the end of seventh grade I received a citizenship award. When I entered the eighth grade my classes again were honors. That year I received citizenship and a high honor roll trophy. As I entered high school my classes seem a lot easier for me because all the hard work I did in middle school was paying off for me.
Other Achievements
In school I have other achievements. In the eighth grade I received the most polite award in my class. I was honored to receive the award because all my teachers told me they nominated me for the award. When I entered high school I found out that I was accepted to be in the AVID program. My freshmen year I ran for an officer possession but I didn’t win but that’s okay. That same year I joined the AVID Club and I’m still in it to this day. I also joined JROTC Club. I’ve also received a perfect attendance award. I was very excited to receive that award because I was always missing school five times or more in one year, but that year I was very proud of myself because I attended school for a whole year with no absences.
