ATTRIBUTES
Athletics
I transferred schools my Freshman year so I could run Cross-Country. When I started running it was late in the pre-season yet I overcame the obstacle of being not only a freshman on the team but starting behind and ended up joining the Varsity squad.
During the Winter I decided to do Swimming. I tried my hardest and pushed myself as much as I could to letter and score my 8 points needed. I also achieved consideration times for the North Carolina State Meet. Unfortunately my times did not go through. Since then I continue to swim every Winter on my High school team and this year, my Junior year, I made the state meet and got top 5 finishes in about all of my events. I also helped break two school records.
Other Achievements
In the Summer of 2008 I found a new sport called Wake-surfing. In this sport you surf a wave that is created by the hull of the boat. I fell in love with the sport and was on the lake nearly every warm day. In 2010, after only two full years of riding I decided to enter a contest. I set the bar high and decided to go to the 2010 World Wake-surf Championships. I rode in the Men's Amateur Surf group and out of about 20-25 people I finished in 3rd place. I was ecstatic. After finishing 3rd I started to travel and do more contest. Including Nationals where I received 2nd place and a contest in Texas that I won. I'm just about three weeks away from attending my first contest not only of the 2011 season but also my first contest riding as a pro. I try to push myself as much as possible.
Work
I'm a very focused and goal oriented person when it comes to working not only at school but also with my job and sports. In 2009 I co-opened a Wake-Surf School alongside with my uncle. Every summer we open up and teach various ages of people how to not only participate in this sport but to do so safely. When I get up around 7am i'm not complaining about work i'm so excited to get down to the boat and help instruct someone on how to do something. Although sometimes it can be very stressful with younger kids I always set a personalized goal for them. I enjoy my job so much. I wouldn't trade it for anything.
