Academics
I am a student at Bladensburg High School in the Biomedical Program. I am in the University of Maryland/ NIH "Climbing Up and Reaching Back" (CURB Project): Mentoring Support for Research Careers in Biomedical and Behavioral Science. Participated in the Curb Biomedical Competition and a member of the Patriot Technology Training Center.
2008 Prince George's Area Science Fair and The Science Bowl. 2010 White House through the NASA/SEMAA Science, Engineering, Mathematics and Aerospace Academy (SEMAA)Program. 2010 Biotechnology II, Summer Academy at Bowie State University. 2010 Walter Reed Army Institute of Research 2010 Gains in Engineering, Math and Science (GEMS) - Intermediate Program. 2011 Bladensburg Team I - 1st Place Curb Program Bio-Medical Competition re: Childhood Obesity.
Athletics
I have been an active participant in youth athletics since I was 7yrs old. I cheered for Peppermill Boys and Girls Club. We won several cheerleading competitions at Maryland University. I was a member of the USATF Junior Olympics - Glenarden Track Team - medaled in track and field (javelin) - regionals at Morgan State. I particiated in the Take Charge Basketball & Life Skills Program.
Basketball - G. James Gholson Middle School and AAU - The Maryland Beltway Lady Cougars.
Since 9th grade, I play varsity basketball, varsity softball and varsity volleyball - Bladensburg High School.
May 2010 - Most Improved Player Trophy - Varsity Softball
May 2011 - Most Improved Player Trophy - Varsity Basketball
July 2011 - 1st Annual Jay Butler Basketball Camp @ University of DC
Community Service
I enjoy being active in my community and helping the environment. In the summer of 2009, Junior Volunteer at Providence Hospital, Washington, DC on 7E Stroke Unit and the B-side of the Emergency Department and I volunteered at the Edgewood Management Afterschool Program. In 2010, volunteered at Smithsonian - Insect Zoo and Butterfly Pavillion and other museum events. I volunteered for College Park Cares 5K Race. With family, volunteered for Canal Pride Day at Great Falls National Park.
Ongoing, I volunteer for several Maryland National Park and Planning events and activities, the SCA Student Conservation Association. I am also a Youth Ministry member at Shiloh Baptist Church in Landover, MD.
