Without question I realize being an all around and capable student is crucial to ensure my success throughout my high school career. Throughout mine I've worked diligently in all of my core & extra curricular classes to receive earned grades of both A's and B's. I also choose to challenge myself by being part of both AP & multiple Honors classes during my high school journey. In school I am not afraid to push myself to studying long hours or to receive extra help in order to obtain my desired grade. I mange to excel in my academics while being in organizations such as FBLA, Class Executive Board (VP), & Varsity Swim. In conclusion although school offers a great deal of activities nothing is as important to me than my academics.
Nothing is greater than the feeling I receive when completing community service. I take advantage of giving back to the community by first being a board member of a non-profit organization Dereka's Delight which allows people with special needs to create & sell products while giving the profit back to my school in forms of scholarships. I'm also a proud member of The Life Society which is a club at my school which is involved in cleaning park & recreational areas, assisting in such as soup kitchens. Lastly my job in itself is a form of community service in which I instruct swim lessons at my local boys and girls club. All in all I will always give back to the community for all it has given to me.
Being part of an Athletic team throughout High School is something I take as both an honor and privilege. Since freshmen year I've been member of the Varsity Swim Team; a rare accomplishment for many. During my swim career I've managed to receive a plethora of accolades for instance Freshmen Swimmer of the Year and qualifying in ten of the eleven state championship events. Now, in my senior year, I am the head captain of my team in an undefeated season. Being part of swim has taught me to also manage my time well and work hard to excel at not just the sport but in many other aspects, teaching me to understand that the infusion of dedication and motivation can lead you to great results.
