Academics
I haven't always excelled in academics, but when I reached high school my perspective on life took a 180 degree turn. I suddenly realized that, in order to make something great out of myself, I would have to try harder than I had ever tried before. Now that I've come to this knowledge, there's not a day that goes by that I don't challenge myself. I have been on the Honor Roll and taken Honors Courses since I began my high school journey. My approximate GPA is around a 3.9, and the first and only time that I have taken the ACT I made a 23. I'm extremely proud of myself for making that score on my first try. Also, I make straight A's on my report card in every class, and I am a proud member of my school's Beta Club.
Faith
There is absolutely no way that I could fully describe how amazing it is to have faith in Jesus Christ. In a few short words, it is one of the best choices that I've ever made. On October 19, 2008, I was saved by my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. From that day foward, I have served him. I began by singing specials in my church. I have always loved to sing, but singing for the Lord makes that love grow ten times as strong. About a year and a half later, I began teaching Children's Sunday school at my church. I instantly fell in love with it, and, to this day, I'm still glad to be spreading the Word of God to young people. Whether it be reading my Bible, singing for my God, or spreading the Gospel to children, I will forever remain strong in my faith.
Athletics
When I first began cheering, I saw it merely as an extra-curricular activity. Today, cheerleading is my passion. I am currently the Co-Captain of the Football Cheerleading Squad at Gibson County High School. During my 8th grade year of cheering, I was chosen to be the Captain of our Junior High squad. At the Athletic Banquet that same year, I was honored with receiving the Leadership Award. During my Junior year of High School, I received the 110% Award. In stunts, my place switches between being a back spot and a flyer. As a flyer, I can do a prep, a straight-up, and a liberty. I also am skilled with doing back-handsprings. Cheerleading will forever be a part of my life, and some day I hope to become a cheerleading coach at my local Junior High school.
