Athletics
I've been doing Track and Field since 6th grade. I throw shot put and discus, and am very accomplished in my sport. My Freshman year I received 5th at State in the discus throw. . My Sophomore year I received 4rth at State in discus throw, placing 2nd in my Region and making it on the 2nd All State Team. My Junior year I placed 4rth at State in the discus throw and placed 2nd in my Region, making it on the 2nd All State Team again. During Christmas break I went to John Powell's Throwing Camp, in Orlando, Florida. Learning from a Olympic athlete was a great experience. I will be throwing in college at Campbellsville University.
Work
Due to father being laid off I decided to start my working career during the Summer of 2010. I started my work career at Holiday World and Splashin' Safari as a lifeguard. During the 2010-2011 school year I worked at Shoe Carnival as a Sales Associate. Summer of 2011 I worked as a lifeguard for the City of Owensboro Parks and Recreation. Not only do I lifeguard, but I also teach swim lessons. I really enjoy being a lifeguard and I believe it will help me with my future career in the Medical field, because I am certified in First Aid, CPR, and I am always helping people. During the school year, I am working at Factory Card Outlet as a sales associate and Owensboro Family YMCA as a swim instructor.
Community Service
In my community I work at in the Elementary School's fall festivals, and I donate blood. I am also a mentor for Freshman that are entering High school, I tell them what high school is like, tell them what they need to do to exceed, how to get involved, and keep track of their grades, and if they need any help, I'll be there for them. My track team works the concession stands too, during basketball games, and I help out at Pro-Care Home Health, also involved in helping people with medical problems, what I want to do in college and out of college. My senior year I was chosen to participate in the Owensboro Youth Council in which we coordinate community involvement and work community events.
