Academics
I am dual-enrolled with my local community college. I have taken college classes since the summer of 2010. When I graduate from high school I should have 46 credit hours through dual enrollment.. I have taken honors and AP classes since sixth grade. I have been on the Honor Roll since I was in 4th grade. When I was in seventh grade, I took the SAT through Duke TIP and my Reading score was high enough to get me into Florida State University. I have a 3.75 GPA. I am ranked number six in my class and got the opportunity to usher at graduation this year, an honor given to only the top students in the Junior class.
Community Service
In the summer of 2008 my youth group went to New Orleans to help MissionLab clean up things left over by Katrina. We worked at a food bank, day care, and cleaned up a whole neighborhood of yards. Spring break of 2009 my youth group went back to New Orleans to help MissionLab again. That time, we worked at a food bank and hung out drywall at a women's unfinished house. The summer of 2009, we went to Henderson, Kentucky with World Changers to clean up after a rough winter. We tore down a women's porch and rebuilt it in four days. I have also helped clean up older people's yards around my town; I love helping people who are in need.
Faith
I have been active in my youth group since I was seventh grade. We have been on many trips and three mission trips that I had fun on. We have helped many families in our community and sing to the people in the nursing homes every Christmas Eve. We go to Christian concerts and go see movies like "Facing the Giants" together. Because of spending years together, we are no longer a youth group. We are a family. Every time we get together, whether it be in the mall or one another's houses, the subject always turns to faith. I have learned so much from my church family over the years and have had the opportunity to express my opinion to others. I thank God every day for putting these wonderful people in my life.
