Arts
I am a musician, graphic artist, and actress. Awards for my music include the 2010 National Downbeat Music Award for Studio Engineering of my self-titled album, for which I composed, recorded, played all the instruments, and sang the vocals, in addition to mixing and producing all of the tracks. The music video for my song, “The Writer”, which I directed, produced and shot was an official selection of the Foursite Film Festival, where it was nominated for “Best Music Video.” As an actress, I appeared in Robert Rodriguez’ Spy Kids 2: Island of Lost Dreams, Spy Kids3-D: Game Over, Shark Boy and Lava Girl. I starred in the zombie movie Pathogen, the making of which was the subject of the feature documentary, Zombie Girl.
Work
I have worked at my grandmother's business, Hayslip Design Asscociates, Inc. as an intern where I mostly organized and filed papers. I have also worked at Robert Rodriguez's Troublemaker Studios as an intern and as an on-set assistant. At Troublemaker, I contributed to the soundtrack of Machete, attended the premiere of Predators, and got to attend various post-production meetings for Machete. I was asked to return for production of Spy Kids 4, where I worked as Mr. Rodriguez's on-set assistant and was allowed to watch him work in all aspects of film making such as screenwriting, casting, scheduling, story-boarding, costuming, concept design, etc. I am now helping with scoring the film.
Other Achievements
I have collaborated with Cary Pierce, of the band Jackopierce. Cary and I co-wrote the song “Only A Year” and Cary served as producer on the recording. I have toured with Jackopierce across the country. I signed with Mr. Pierce’s record label, foreverything music, to produce a 6 song EP.
The Born Free Foundation, adopted my song “Beautiful Release” to benefit the foundation.
I am also a published cartoonist and have used my knowledge in graphic and visual arts to create my own album artwork, make storyboards for films, create concept art, and design webpages. I have also been able to turn my graphic arts experience into a job opportunity by making books that feature children’s artwork.
