ATTRIBUTES
Arts
As a child I took a piano class, participated in a community play that one of my friend's parents hosted, and joined my school choir from fourth to fifth grade. In choir, we performed at assemblies, sang at the Veteran's Hospital, and sang at senior citizen homes. In middle school I took an art class that taught me different techniques I can use to draw certain objects, and other ways to perceive the things I see. This past summer I took a Beginning Digital Photography class at Youth In Focus, which taught me about the composition of pictures, how to control my camera, how to write an artist's statement, and much more. I am currently taking Drama class and Guitar at school.
Academics
I am currently taking two AP classes (AP Language Composition and AP U.S. History). In middle school I took Honors Language Arts all three years. In ninth grade I also received honors credit in World History for having higher than ninety-five percent in that class. Last year I was awarded student of the month for "outstanding achievement in world language". I got all A's last year, and usually manage to get at least five A's (with a 'B' in math class). I was also nominated to be a mentor at my school because of my good grades, and last year my Digitools teacher nominated me to be in the United States Achievement Academy's year book. I also passed all four of the High School Proficiency Exams in tenth grade.
Other Achievements
One of my biggest achievements to this day was being able to get a photography "gig" with one of my mom's friends; I took pictures at her baby shower, edited them, made a disk of the pictures for her, and got paid for doing it! I received the Seymour Kaplan Humanitarian Award in fifth grade along with one of my classmates. Additionally, I auditioned for the improv show at my school, made it, and was given many accolades for my bravery. last year, I also got a certificate of completion for attending the National Endowment for Financial Education at my high school.
