Academics
I have excellent grades, only A's and A+s, making a 4.0 GPA. I am also ranked number one in my class of over 200 students. I always put my hardest effort into projects and work which earned me three academic awards at my elementary school graduation. In high school, I am in all the honors classes I can be in and will be taking my first of many Advanced Placement courses in Sophomore year. I am also planning on taking both Spanish and German in high school. I am also going to take as many advanced placement courses as I can in my junior and senior year of high school. I hope to become valedictorian at graduation and earn enough scholarships to be able to go to whatever college i would like. For now, I plan to continue earning my grades.
Other Achievements
I am involved with Forensics, or public speaking, at school. I started it Freshmen year in order to overcome my fear of public speaking and to become more confident when speaking in front of large or small audiences. At first I found it diffucult and did not work on it as much as I should have. Once competitions started though I began to practice more and set my sights high. By the end of normal tournament season I was determined to make it on the team advancing to the state competition, and I did. From then on, I went to practice almost every night and would practice at home and in my free time trying to get good enough to make it to state and earn my gold. I did earn my gold medal as well as my varsity letter in forensics as a freshman.
Government
I became involved in student government this year in high school. I was a bit wary at first but then enjoyed it very much and i plan to stick with it through high school. I really enjoyed all the volunteering oppurtunities I recieved through student council as well as the self confidence. I volunteered as often as I could, making myself known to the upperclassmen. I also liked the decision making we were able to do when planning events. My favorite thing was the Thanksgiving Food drive. It was a lot of fun and really helped out a lot of families in the area including one of my close friends. That really was an eye opener when she and her mom came to get their box of food. I truly do enjoy the volunteering, and hope to become president.
