Faith
My faith in the Lord is something very important to me. Ever since I was little I grew up going to church, but through my family experiences I choose to have nothing to do with it. One summer at a camp, we were sitting at campfire talking about how God is our Heavenly Father, and I wanted nothing to do with it so I left and started crying. A counselor came up to me and showed the most beautiful scene of fireflies and stars and explained that God made that with me in mind. I gave my life to the Lord and now I try and share that with others. In Gal 4:6-7 it says that we are children on God. I live by that, and I want my brothers and sisters to know that. Even if you make mistakes HE will always be waiting open arms. I plan to share that. <3
Community Service
I try to do as much as I can for others. I believe I was put on this earth to make people smile and happy, but special needs in where I love to serve. Every other Sunday at church I help with a young girl named Maya. She has a chromosome disorder, and can not to normal tasks that you and I can, though she has changed my life. When this 6 year old girl is happy she lights up the whole room by flapping her arms and flashing a grin. Most extraordinary is when music comes on and the joy that is portrayed. She is one of the many reasons I plan on going into Music Therapy. Music is something the community and special needs children need. There are various jobs I have done but I believe community service is making the world better with music.
Arts
Music is what makes the world go around. How many people do you know that won't even listen to a radio? Everywhere you go there is music. Music is one of the most important things to me because of what I have seen it do. It has brought a bitter old man to tears because of the beauty, it has mended a widows heart after loosing a loved one, and thankfully it has spoken into the life of people who have nearly taken their own. I was sitting at my computer listening to a radio station questioning numerous things in life; why bad things happen, is it me that causes all of this, and a song came on "You Are Mine" by Mutemath. The words rang in my head YOU ARE MINE! I had to believe that it was. Music changes people. It changed me.
