I never fit in as a kid. I was awkward and shy. When I got to High school I made a promise to myself that I would strive to find acceptance. I started off my freshman year with Choir and Managing the boys swim team. This was great for me I had always loved to sing and My cousin was on the swim team. I quickly found that Managing was time consuming but I loved it. I felt a sense that the guys needed me there. I kept with both of these for my 3 years so far. During my junior year I also tried out for the brand new Flags team. This is where I really found my acceptance. I made new friends quickly and devoted my time to flags. I was even nominated For a leadership position as choreographer. I worked hard to achieve my goal to find my acceptance
Athletics
During my freshman year my uncle asked me for some help with the High school swim team he coached. There wasn't a huge population of boy swimmers in our area so all 4 schools in our district made one team. He asked me if I would come to practices and meets to help the team out with everything they needed, as the manager. I was excited to help and see first hand into a high school team. I go to every practice. I make sure all paper work is done and gets to the correct people on time. I make sure we have buses to the meets and that everyone knows whats going on. sometimes I even find myself giving advice. Basically I am the team mother at times and i love it. Over the past 3 years we've become a family, I wouldn't trade it for the world.
Academics
I have a 2.49 GPA, I am ranked 350 of 475 kids. You're probably wondering why I would even apply for this but there is more behind me beside average grades. I have always been a smart student. I retain information very well. I can learn something and never forget it. I am also very generous and easily distracted by helping others. when I was young my mom always told me to worry about myself first then help others but it seems I just never could. Helping others out when they need someone to talk to is my weakness. During my freshman year I had a friend that become overwhelmed with depression. My grades suffered because I couldn't let her go down alone. To this day she believes I saved her. She is only an example of what I do for people.
