Academics

I love learning and am curious about everything! I have been ranked 1st in my class since freshman year and will try my best to earn the Valedictorian title. I am a 2010 AP Scholar with Distinction and have self -studied 5 AP courses in addition to those taken at school. I attended the Georgia Governor's Honors Program in summer 2009 as a math major and piano minor. In the summer of 2010, I was selected to attend the Wachovia Scholars Business at Moore Program and the SWE Engineering Camp. I'm a National Merit Scholar, and scored above the 99th percentiles on all sections of the SAT, ACT, and PSAT. I have won Academic Decathlon awards in Music, Math, and Language Arts, and I am the president of the Mu Alpha Theta, Math Team, and Beta Club.

Music is my greatest passion. I have been playing the piano since I was 4, and for the past 13 years, I have developed my skills to a concert pianist level. I have won the Georgia Music Teachers' Association Solo Piano Auditions twice, won 1st alternate in the Music Teachers' National Association Piano Duet Competition, and won the Junior Piano Olympics in addition to many other state and local awards. I want to share my love of music to the community, and I do so by performing in various charity concerts, playing keyboard in Sunday services in church, and teaching children music lessons free of charge. Additionally, I play viola in the school orchestra, and am very involved in choral activities and the Tri-M Music Honor Society as well.

Community Service
Community Service

I volunteer weekly at the local food ministry and in the service orchestra at church. However, my greatest service contributions are my musical concerts that I organize and/or perform in to raise money for various causes such as Relay for Life. Additionally, I teach underprivileged children music lessons through outreach programs I founded called "Youth 2 Youth Music" and "Music 4 Us". I have won the Presidential Gold Medal for Volunteerism and the US Congressional Silver Award, and I am Treasurer of the Key Club and Student Council. In addition, I tutor, babysit, and do other odd jobs through the National Honor Society, Freshmen Mentoring Program, and National English Honor Society.
