I am ASB Secretary for my school this year. Last month, I participated in the National Young Leaders Conference (NYLC) – Congressional Youth Leadership Council (CYLC) in Washington D.C. I was selected as a Leader for our class Kairos Retreat. This past summer, I participated in the 2009 Congressional Student Leadership Conference (CSLC) hosted by Lead America at Columbia University. I was Class President in the 10th grade and was nominated to participate as our Hugh O’Brien Youth Leadership (HOBY) representative for my school.

Since 6th grade, I have participated in the American Cancer Society Relay for Life event. This has included numerous meetings, setting up for the event, the 24-hour walk, and cleanup after event. This past summer, I also served as the Secretary/Assistant to the Chairperson, which included reporting minutes for the meetings. This past summer, I volunteered as a youth counselor or Counselor in Training (CIT) for the City of Burbank. In the 10th and 11th grades, I participated in bell ringing for The Salvation Army and received a “2007 Bellringer” plaque for over 30 hours of service.
