Academics
I have striven throughout my High School years to have a high GPA it is 3.86 out of a 4.00 without being weighted. When weighted with AP and Dual Credit courses it would be near 5.00. As stated, I take AP and Dual Credit courses and will graduate high school with 24 college hours which will basically make me a college sophomore. I have a 3.83 GPA for my college classes. I am in the upper 5% of my high school class and may possibly graduate Valedictorian or Salutatorian when my third year of Foreign Language (which I am taking now) kicks in it will set me on the accelerated plan. This year I am taking AP Calculus, AP Biology, AP English, Pre-AP Spanish, Dual Credit Government and Dual Credit Economics.
Athletics
I have played varsity since my Sophomore year in high school. I play Defensive End and Wide Receiver for football and run track. I received numerous awards in football and my team during my varsity years has gone 2 deep in playoffs each year. I recently was named All State in Academics for football. I also made it to the finals in the USA/NFL 19U football tryouts. I also, went to Regionals last year in track, in the 4x400 relay and Discus. It was my first year to throw a discus. I hope to go to State this year in Discus. I also, hope to pick up a scholarship playing football and possibly discus for one of the colleges that are looking at me. I have some offers from in-state and out-of-state schools.
Community Service
I mentor students in the lower grades each week. This means listening and interacting with a student that needs an older student friend. I help with Vacation Bible School in overseeing kids and helping with projects. I do mission trips to cities across the USA and help anywhere needed, including cleaning up, painting, repair work, etc. I help with the Barnabas Project, that helps widows and shut-ins with repairs. I am President of Student Council so we help with Blood Drives and other community service projects. I am a member of National Honor Society and we help with Habitat for Humanities in building homes locally for the needy.
