ATTRIBUTES
Community Service
I am an Eagle Scout, having been involved in scouting since the Second Grade. With scouting, I have been given the opportunity to give back to my community by working in soup kitchens, providing landscaping help to local schools and working with other scouts to achieve their own Eagle rank, among other things.
My Eagle project is the ultimate "Leave No Trace" project - you can't see it! I facilitated the building and sinking of artificial fish habitats in the fishing lake at Pleasant Ridge Park for the Greenville County Recreation District. The fish habitats provide safety and shelter for new fish to flourish - resulting in better fish stories at the end of the day! I'm also involved in volunteering with the Special Olympics - the kids from my school love me and it's very rewarding
Athletics
I am a 3-sport Varsity letterman at my high school in Swimming, Wrestling and Lacrosse. The discipline required for all three sports will help me meet challenges throughout life.
I'm not afraid of hard work! The conditioning and training needed to excel in any sport is tough, and to manage my school workload and other activities requires a great amount discipline.
As a member of the Eastside Wrestling Team, we won our 20th straight Regional Championship last year! We work hard, with a goal to excel and do our best.
I also volunteer my time to work with local youth swimming and lacrosse programs.
Government
I am my high school's Student Body President. I have been involved in school government since Middle School, as Class President in the 8th, 10th and 11th Grades.
My high school has a yearly "Spirit Week" competition with a rival school during football season. Each school selects a charity and raises money for one week. At the Friday night football game, the Student Government groups for both schools meet on the field at half-time and present the checks. Through my leadership, my school raised $150,020.13 for F.A.S.T. (Foundation for Angelman Syndrome Therapeutics). I was honored by F.A.S.T. at their Annual Gala in December in Chicago for all of my hard work. Colin Farrell even sent us a YouTube video!
I attended Palmetto Boys State and was elected a County Councilman.
