ATTRIBUTES
Athletics
I have been a cheerleader since the seventh grade, but did not cheer my sophomore year due to a knee injury. Cheer leading is not considered a sport to many, but it is something I am passionate about. Even after three knee surgeries, I still strive to keep the crowd entertained at football and basketball games. This past summer, in July of 2012, I went to a Universal Cheerleaders Association camp with my squad, where two other girls, as well as myself, from my squad were awarded UCA All-American Cheerleader.
Community Service
I have been an active member of Key Club since my freshmen year. My freshmen and sophomore years I had to chance to become a board member. Then, my junior and senior year, this year, I was given to opportunity to become president. Helping others is something that has always brought joy to me. Throughout my presidency, I have been able to organize and manage many different projects. My biggest project this year was a gift basket raffle to raise money for ELIMINATE, which helps to eliminate maternal and neonatal tetanus.
Work
My parents have always stressed to me how important it is to be financially stable. As soon as I could, I began looking for jobs. In my town, I found a Frozen Custard shop, where I have been working since October of 2010. I work about 15 hours a week in the fall and winter, and about 20 in the summer. I have been recently given the position of being a manager. I have also recently earned my State Tested Nursing Assistant certification, and plan to get a job in a nursing home soon.
