During my Junior year, I tore my ACL playing volleyball. Rehabilitation consisted of two grueling surgeries, several months in a wheel chair, and a lot of determination to recover. Despite missing three months of school and being immobile for five months, I still managed to pull off with straight A's, a 4.4 GPA, and all "5" scores on my AP exams. I have passed all of my AP exams titling me as an AP Scholar with Honors. In addition, I have been an honor roll student during all four years of high school and will graduate high school with 7 college classes under my belt. I'm also an active member in honor societies such as NHS, SNHS, FHS, Beta Club, and Rho Kappa.
Athletics
I began playing club volleyball when I was an eighth grader. After playing only one year, I placed a spot on the Varsity Volleyball team as a freshman. I continued to play on the Varsity team all four years of highschool, with an exception of my Junior year when I tore my ACL. I continued to play club volleyball throughout ninth and tenth grade traveling across the state and country for tournaments. Many D1 and D2 schools expressed interest in me playing for their college team. However, after my ACL injury I decided I did not want to play in college, but I did continue to play for my high school Varsity team.
Community Service
I have dedicated approximately 93 hours on my time as an assisstant volleyball coach at a local TVA volleyball camp. There I taught young girls (ages 5-13) how to learn the basics of volleyball such as passing, setting, spiking, and serving. I have also spent lots of time at road and lake cleanups pulling invasive weeds and trash around streets and lakes in the community. In addition, I have involved myself at a local foodbank at the Tuskawilla United Methodist Church. As a volunteer I helped pass out food to poor people and helped take it to their cars. I am also currently looking into volunteering at a Florida Hospital and Vet Hospital before graduation so I can gain a little experience before I start studying Pre-Med in college.
