Academics
I have been an honor roll student all 4 years of high school. I currently have a 3.85 unweighted GPA and rank in the top 10%. I am currently taking 2 honors classes and 2 Pre-AP classes. I have received several awards in academics throughout high school such as a Certificate of Merit for Outstanding accomplishment in 4.2 weighted GPA, a varsity letter in academics, student of the month, and I am currently a member of the National Honor Society. I have applied to and have been accepted to Texas State University and Texas A & M Corpus Christi because of my academic excellence. I will be visiting each college in the spring and will make my decision after I visit them.
Arts
I love music and have been in choir since 6th Grade. I am a Soprano II member of my school's A Capella Choir and have been all 4 years of high school and have a true passion for music. Our choir program is rated one of the top in Texas. I have sang in many Choir competitions starting in Middle School. I received an Outstanding Soloist Award and Award of Excellence in choir during that time. Our A Capella Choir has been honored several times throughout high school. In 2009 & 2010 we competed at the Region IX University Interscholastic League concert and sight-reading contest and earned sweepstakes award and straight superior ratings in both concert and sight-reading and brought home a sweepstakes trophy.
Work
I am a carhop at Sonic and I started there February 1, 2012. The is my first job and I really enjoy it. When I started I was a fountain girl. I made the drinks, ice cream, and Slurpes. I excelled quickly and became a carhop about 3 months later. My current job consists of taking customers orders and delivering their order to the car. I work 15-20 hours per week. The nights I close I sweep the parking lot, take the trash out, and help with anything my supervisor asks of me. Having a job has helped me in many ways such as being responsible, learning the value of money, and having a good business ethic.
