ATTRIBUTES
Academics
I have excelled in high school and have been ranked consistently in the top two of my class since beginning my high school career. My G.P.A. is currently a 3.9 at the high school. While maintaining my academics at the high school level, I have also excelled in college. I will graduate with 37 credits, having completed classes in Plane Trigonometry, Physics, Calculus I and Medical Terminology. Finally, I have been accepted to Texas A & M University, ranked 16th in the nation where I will pursue a degree in animal science. With this degree, I plan to go on to Texas A & M's College of Veterinary Science and complete the curriculum for a graduate degree in veterinary science.
Community Service
Through my involvement in the Graham County 4-H for several years and now the Safford FFA and National Honor Society, I have been involved in many different fundraisers. I have helped to host concession stands for 4-H Club money, cleaned yards for those who are less fortunate, and helped in many different fundraisers that have helped several different groups around the Gila Valley. I have gone out of my way and helped to organize several of these activities, or at least been highly involved in completing them.
Other Achievements
I have been most involved in raising cattle and sheep, which I have turned into my own small businesses. I have learned about the science in the nutrition of feeding these show animals, learned veterinary procedures like injections and dealing with parasites, in addition to learning how to manage my own finances. I have shown my cattle and sheep all over the state and been highly successful with them, having been named the Reserve Champion Senior Beef Showman in 2010 for the Southern Arizona International Livestock Association (SAILA). I am currently ranked third in the state for Senior Beef Showmanship and hoping for a championship finish. Through these projects, I have helped many others to learn about their projects and to help them fulfill their dreams through good morals.
