ATTRIBUTES
Academics
Academically, I have excelled at all core subjects: Math, Science, English, and History. In middle school I participated in MATH COUNTS and YOU BE THE CHEMIST, and I received the Citizen of the year award for my outstanding academics and social skills. In the Class of 2014, at Ludington High School, I am currently ranked 3, with a 4.057 GPA. I push myself in every subject, and am currently taking all core classes this trimester. I have been in the Advanced Placement courses for World History, and U.S History and I plan on taking A.P. English and AP Calculus next year as well as Allied Health(College Prep course). Somewhere along the way, I have found myself in the Anna Miller Chapter of the National Honor Society. Recently, I took my first ACT and got a 27 on it, but I plan on retaking it.
Community Service
Being raised in the Church of Christ, I have always been taught to be concerned and be willing to work for another's benefit. This has driven me to help out around my community to the best of my ability. Monthly, I sing at Tendercare and Oakview, two local nursing homes in Ludington. As a member of National Honor Society, I help with our fundraisers: OJ Activity Nights and The Haunted Fairgrounds. I also help organize shopping trips to get items for Warm the Children, Toys for Tots, and Shultz Lewis Children's Foundation. I also help coach the Ludington Tennis Camp in the summer. The kids learn the tennis fundamentals while they have fun and play games, and it is such a joy to see them improve and find their coordination. I love giving back because you can make other people happy.
Athletics
Ever since I was little, my parents have been encouraging me to try everything I want to try. That is how I ended up playing the sport I love: tennis. I first started playing it when I was in 7th grade. My freshman year I tried out for the JV team, and a week after our 1st match, I was bumped up to 1 singles. Halfway through the season, I was moved up to varsity at 4 doubles. My 10th grade year, I was moved to 2 doubles. Here I had a 27-8 season with 5 medals: consisting of 1 consolation, 1 runner up, and 1 first at tournaments throughout the season, as well as taking 2nd in the conference( causing me to receive honorable mention all conference) and 1st at our regional. At 2 doubles, I was seated 4th in the MHSAA Division 4 State tournament. The rest of this story is still being written.
