ATTRIBUTES
Academics
It's no secret that I'm a smart guy at my school. I'm top of the class, have well above a 4.0, and have taken nine AP classes. I've taken dual-enrollment college math classes for the past two years, and skipped a year in English. My SAT and ACT scores are top notch, with a 2230 on the SAT and a perfect 36 on the ACT. I've been accepted to Harvard and the University of Michigan, with applications on the way to Stanford and MIT. I'm in the National Honors Society, on the Honor Roll, an AP Scholar with Distinction, a Dartmouth Junior Book award recipient, a National Merit Semifinalist, have been a Michigan Math Prize finalist for 3 years, and a leading member of our Science Olympiad team, earning multiple regional medals and advancing to states every year. Academics are my strongest point.
Arts
Music has always been a significant part of my life. After starting off with violin lessons in kindergarten, I soon switched over to the guitar. From there my music experience has skyrocketed. On top of playing guitar for personal pleasure, I've expanded my musical capabilities. I've been playing the trombone since 6th grade and am a member of marching band and Wind Ensemble, where I'm first chair and Section Leader, as well as being on the Band Council. I've also become a singer and performer, taking part in numerous school musicals where I've held various roles and been a member of the Dance Core many times. I even dabble as a rapper, often taking part in freestyling sessions with friends and even making a Wuthering Heights rap for school and asking a girl to Homecoming with a rap.
Athletics
In the sports arena I've been able to excel in more than one sport. I've played hockey for over 10 years, becoming involved in various levels. I played as an 8th grader on the JV team, and in my sophomore year was captain of the JV team. My junior year I helped coach a team, allowing me to give back to the sport. As a senior I'm a member of the varsity team, playing as a starter. Throughout high school I also participated in cross country for four years, earning 4 varsity letters, serving as a captain in my senior year, and being a member of the team as we became State Champions my sophomore year. In the springtime I've competed in track as a varsity hurdler for 4 years, earning 3 varsity letters and serving as a captain senior year. I'm also a licensed scuba diver and an adept skier.
