ATTRIBUTES
Athletics
Running is my passion! I have lettered on the Varsity Cross Country and Varsity Track teams since eighth grade. For the past two years as captain, I have lead my team to the State Finals. Individually, I finished fourth at the track state finals in the 1600m and 3200m. In Cross Country, I was the District Champion, Regional Champion, and placed fourth at State. I hold the school record in three events: the 5K (18:18), 3200m (11:07), and 1600m (5:08). I have earned several awards including the Most Improved Runner Award, "Promoting Athletes with Sportsmanship" Award, Scholar Athlete Award, and Most Valuable Runner Award. Competitive running keeps me disciplined, but also gives me a physical outlet from my academic studies. I am excited to continue running at the collegate level.
Academics
I have been on Trinity's 'Headmaster's List' every semester of high school; I am a straight 'A' student with a 4.07 unweighted and 4.34 weighted GPA. I have taken ten Honors classes, eight AP classes, and have been named an AP Scholar with Honor. My ACT composite is a 33, with a perfect score of 36 in the Reading component. I am a member of the Junior National Honor Society, National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta Mathematics Honor Society, and Spanish Honor Society. I also was awarded the 2013 National Merit Recognition as a High- Scoring Junior for my PSAT score. I have particularly enjoyed my Biology classes, and plan to major in Biological Sciences in college.
Faith
For the past two years, I have been the Co-President of Saint Margaret Mary's Youth Board. The Board is comprised of young parishioners who are responsible for planning church activites for young people of faith. I helped organize the monthly Coalition for the Homeless trips and the church's Fall Festival. In addition, we also plan every youth group night, from social nights at Tijiana Flats, special guest speakers, dodgeball tournaments, and scavenger hunts. This past summer, I completed the Notre Dame Vision Leadership program. High School students from across the United States joined in reflection of life, God, talents, and service. The experience allowed me to grow in my faith, and bring back new ideas and perspectives to my youth group.
