Faith
I am involved in a Christian Organization called Young Life. Young Life is a ministry anchored towards high school students who are tired with the stereotypical church atmosphere. I am the senior leader of Lloyd Memorial High School and I am planning on becoming a Young Life leader once I enter college. I attend Crossroads Church and I currently am a part of two bible study groups. Faith in God has accounted for a lot of the decisions and blessings that have taken place in my life. I plan to give back to this community in order to further the kingdom of Christ through getting more involved with my church, ministry, and small groups.
Academics
Within my high school career I have advanced my academic abilities by holding myself accountable to my study habits and progressing in my studies. I have completed two Advanced Placement classes those including, A.P U.S. History, A.P Literature, and I am in the midst of A.P Psychology. A.P Psychology was not offered at my high school therefore I took a stand and I asked the Board of Education if they could provide me with the online version of this credit. By standing up for my education and presenting my school with an option for me to further my studies I have succeeded in getting higher grades and a 3.08 GPA. I am at the top 50% rank of my graduating class and I plan to further my Honors curriculum in college.
Work
Throughout my senior year of high school I have maintained two jobs while balancing my studies and my extra curricular activities. not only do I have job experiences for the major I plan on studying in college but I also have been involved in volunteer work through my high school's spirit and service club, Gold Rush, which I am the Secretary of. I devoted a month of my summer to my ministry by going to a camp that services high school children and I was on Housekeeping staff and the Kitchen crew. I plan to do more volunteer/paid work throughout my college experience by doing a Study Abroad service, Co-Op programs, Work Study programs, and working for the two companies I work for now. I also am planning to become a full time employee over the 2013 summer.
