Academics
When it comes to my education, I take my grades and learning very seriously. As of right now, my current GPA is 3.75 on an unweighted scale. I have all A’s and B’s on my high school transcript. I also take honors and AP classes. My weighted GPA is 4.3. I am a member of the National Beta club and the National Honor Society. My junior year in high school, I was honored by being chosen to be an Usher. This means that I was in the top 20 students in my senior class. Being number 15 in my senior class, I am in the top 10% of my class. For my first time taking the SAT this year, my score was a 1520. This is not as high as I can score, but being my first time, it was a very good score. I made an 24 on my ACT also. I have been accepted into four different colleges.
Community Service
Considering the many clubs I am a member of in high school, community service comes very easily for me and I enjoy it. I am a member of our school SGA. Being 12th grade vice president, I take part in our recycling program, and we raise money for our community and school. I am also a Teacher Cadet. Also every Tuesday and Thursday we leave our own school campus to go to elementary schools to teach and tutor their students. We volunteer at many of their events, such as their bowling days, EC fair day, and any plays and festivals they hold at their school. I also take part in a Breakfast Buddy program. Every Friday morning, I go and eat breakfast with my student and mentor and tutor them while just bonding and being a friend to them.
Other Achievements
My other achievements I would like to talk about is my achievements in JROTC. The Junior Reserved Officers Training Corp is a club I have been in since my freshman year. I joined to become a better leader and to truly find myself and get out of my shell. I worked hard in this program and I have become a great leader. I lead on drill team and colorguard team. With our colorguard team , we volunteer at many churches and programs our community has by posting the colors at events. I hold the position as Battalion S-!. This means, I am the 4th highest cadet of our program. I take care of most of our paper work and I make sure that our program runs very smoothly and effectively. I won a JROTC writing contest for Robeson County also while i have been in this program.
