ATTRIBUTES
Academics
During my high school career I have managed a 3.71 unweighted (3.93 weighted) GPA and have been on the principals honor roll through high school. I am a member of the National Honor Society, National Technical Honors Society, and Skills USA. During my competition for Skills USA, Leadership category, I placed third at districts and earned the honor to compete at the state level in extemporaneous speaking. I am ranked 69 out of 545 in my class. I earned this ranking by taking multiple advanced classes such as: college algebra, college trigonometry, and AP Physics. I’ve also excelled academically by being accepted into the CADD (Computer aided Drafting & Design) program at the Career and Technology Center at Fort Osage.
Athletics
I started running cross country and track in eighth grade. I continued to run in high school, being on the varsity team all four years. I really stepped up as a leader in the fall of my junior year when the team was light on seniors. During that time, the cross country team got eighth in the Missouri 4A state cross country meet. That spring, the team got second place at the Missouri 4A state track and field meet. To conclude my last cross country season, the team got second in the Missouri 4A state cross country meet and I came in tenth overall, earning all state honors. I hope to do just as well if not better this spring for track season. I was also given the Wildcat Award (award honoring great teamwork and valor) by my cross country coach two years in a row.
Faith
I am a member of Timothy Lutheran Church in Blue Springs, Mo. I went through three years of classes and was confirmed in 2008. I continued to attend mid-week and Sunday school classes after confirmation. In 2012, I helped form a youth praise group called, I-Praise. We have our service on Sunday evenings. My Pastor asked me to be the praise leader. As the praise leader, I lead the youth praise service and share my personal praise stories. I also continue to attend mid-week classes, Sunday services and other classes offered at our church. I believe being a part of church really helps me stay grounded and develop important relationships with people older than I am. I hope to stay active in the church in the future and be a positive role model for younger members.
