ATTRIBUTES
Athletics
I have played soccer, basketball, and volleyball but soccer is my first love. I am a 3-year varsity player and started every game as our soccer goalkeeper. I was honored to be named to the Greater Western Ohio Conference North Second Team and All Area Third Team my sophomore year. My junior year I was named Greater Western OH Conference North First Team and All Area Second Team. Set school record with 10 shutouts and 0.60 goal against average. Senior year I was named Greater Western OH Conference North First Team and All Area First Team. I have played travel soccer for 10 years and made the Olympic Development Programs State Pool as a 12 and 13 year old, District Pool as 14, 15, 16 year old and Regional Pool as 17 year old. Sports help me be a more successful, well rounded student.
Community Service
I volunteer in many different ways. I have tutored students in my elementary school that needed help with math. In high school, I work with Algebra students who need assistance. I have prepared soup for St Vincent DePaul as a part of my youth ministry and volunteered to work my church festival for the last 8 years. I have volunteered with “A Kid Again” helping mentally challenged children enjoy activities with their families. I have supported our food drive for the past 8 years where twice a year we collect, sort and distribute canned goods for the needy. The last three summers I have volunteered in a soccer camp for local elementary soccer players. I routinely assist my elderly neighbors by shoveling their driveway, clearing tree brush, etc because I enjoy helping them out.
Faith
My Catholic faith affects every aspect of my life. I attended a Catholic school for the first 8 years of my life. I am an active youth member of my parish, St. Christopher’s. I enjoy supporting the parish by volunteering at events such as our church festival working in the kiddie tent or selling hamburgers in the food tent. I also support the food pantry drives, and soup kitchen ministry. I have been an Alter Attendant since the 4th grade and have continued to participate in this ministry through high school when many other attendants stop. In addition, I also distribute wine during communion. I have participated in several religious retreats and have enjoyed sharing my thoughts and views with my friends during these retreats. I strive to live by my Catholic values every day.
